History

BluePlanner was originally developed in 2003 as a Sales Planning & Trade Promotion Management tool in collaboration with business units of Danone in the United Kingdom. Between 2004 and 2006, the solution evolved into a successful collaborative platform. BluePlanner received the Danone global award for Best Promotion Tool in 2006.

UpClear was established in 2007 and took ownership of BluePlanner to take it even further. The solution was completely rebuilt using .NET technology. Its technical architecture was made scalable and highly configurable to address the needs of wider markets and requirements.

UpClear started commercializing the new BluePlanner software in 2008 in the United Kingdom and United States, and then other European countries from 2009 to 2010. In 2012, UpClear also established a presence in Hong Kong to support deployments in Indonesia and China.

Today, UpClear collaborates with clients in twenty countries across North America, Europe, Asia, and Africa to optimize sales revenue, trade promotions, and profit on internationally recognized brands.

UpClear has a proven track record of successful BluePlanner deployment to consumer goods manufacturers. This is the result of our flexible software, a lean deployment process, and an efficient support structure.

We support dozens of clients across 20 countries spanning North America, Europe, Asia, and Africa. Our international and multicultural team is located at our three primary offices in New York, London, and Hong Kong, and branches in France, Singapore, and Australia.

We continuously collaborate with our users and invest in our technology and features to adapt BluePlanner for new markets.

Thierry Soudee

Founder & Chief Executive Officer

Thierry founded UpClear in 2007 after ten years of experience in Fast-moving Consumer Goods and Technology in the USA and Europe. During this time, he developed the business knowledge that led to BluePlanner, our flagship software, and the creation of UpClear.

Since 2007, he has driven the fast growing pace of the company, currently serving clients in twenty countries across four continents. Thierry attributes UpClear’s success to a deep understanding of our clients’ needs thanks to a collaborative approach, as well as a focused strategy with an efficient enterprise software-as-a-service.

Gabriele Plate

Manager, Client Services - Europe

Gabriele joined UpClear after five years of FMCG experience through consulting and industry work in Europe.

He brings expertise in commercial transformation methodologies along with Pricing and Revenue Management best practices.

Gabriele is now leading UpClear’s growth agenda in the UK as well as the development and ongoing improvement of Analytics and Trade Promotion Optimization capabilities.

Rajeev Prabhakar

Manager, Client Services - Americas

Rajeev joined UpClear after more than 15 years in CPG. He started his career in CPG Management Consulting, covering CRM/TPM with IBM / PwC first, then with Oracle-Siebel. He then joined Clorox where he spent the next 10 years leading projects in IT transformation, Trade Promotion Optimization, and Sales Planning.

Rajeev is responsible for supporting UpClear’s growing North American client base.

Bevan Webb

Manager, Client Services - APAC

Bevan joined UpClear with over 12 years of experience consulting with CPG manufacturers and retailers.

He came to UpClear from IBM, where he was responsible for the Price and Promotion Optimization implementations at several top-tier global retailers, and most recently as a Retail Subject-Matter-Expert across Asia-Pacific.

John Smart

Chief Financial and Administrative Officer

John joined UpClear in 2012 as part of UpClear’s plans to grow as a global provider of software and services.

John brings thirty years of finance experience to UpClear, gained mostly in international assignments with AT&T and Deloitte, to ensure that we operate on a consistent basis in each location, in accordance with local standards and best practices to deliver efficient and high-value services and solutions to our clients.

Gerard Frantz

Chief Technology Officer

Gerard has enjoyed a thirty year career on the front edge of all things new and challenging in technology development. He is a published author on software programming and a specialist in Windows and .NET architecture and application development.

Gerard was inspired by Thierry’s vision to develop intuitive, quick-to-deploy, yet robust software solutions. He has been involved on the BluePlanner software since 2005, having gone through several evolutions to make BluePlanner the high-powered, web-based proven management tool that it is today.

Ed Bishop

Business Development Manager

Ed joined UpClear with over fifteen years of experience in commercial and the FMCG space in Europe. He has worked on both the supplier, in a variety of commercial roles, and the business and technology consulting sides of the industry.

Ed brings comprehensive understanding of business and commercial requirements to UpClear for developing, improving, and promoting the UpClear BluePlanner solution.

Natalie Vandersluis

Solution Architect

Natalie has consulted for some of the largest CPG companies on deployment and best practice definition for TPM and other processes.

At UpClear, she is involved with new features of the BluePlanner solution, and integration capabilities.

Jean-Sébastien Ghis

Enterprise Client Lead

Jean-Sébastien has 20 years of experience in FMCG with Danone in IT, Internal Audit, and running transformation projects for Finance, Supply Chain and Sales.

At UpClear, he manages the Danone account, including 20 business units in Europe and Asia.

Prashanth Maheshwar

Enterprise Client Lead

Prashanth has a wealth of experience in B2B SaaS. His experience has seen him work across Asia, supporting a leading event management company from its early days to public listing.

Prashanth is leading the Reckitt Benckiser global rollout to developing markets.

Christopher Reid

Enterprise Client Lead

Christopher has worked across both Revenue Management and business consulting in the United States and Europe for over 10 years.

At UpClear, he leads the global rollout to a Global Confectionary Manufacturer.

Carl Granfelt

Enterprise Client Lead

Carl has 21 years of experience at Mondelez International and its predecessors designing and delivering end-to-end solutions for Revenue Growth and Trade Management, having most recently been their Global Solution Owner – Revenue Growth Management / Trade Solutions. 

Carl brings his key experience with Consumer Goods firms to support UpClear’s growth with key Enterprise Clients and is currently leading the Ferrero rollout.
