State of the Industry 

The Promotion Optimization Institute (POI) just published its annual Consumer Goods Trade Promotion Software vendor panorama report.  We are proud to receive best –in-class distinctions in the following categories: POI Best-in-Class for Desktop UX, Analytics Visualization, Data Management, and S&OP Capabilities. 

Every year, the Promotion Optimization Institute publishes a report that showcases all vendors in the Trade Promotion Software space to best guide and inform consumer goods brands that are seeking the most up to date panoramic view of all vendors with the capabilities to support their needs in trade promotion optimization and revenue management. There are fifteen best-in-class categories and we are excited to have received four out of those fifteen that align with our values and client feedback.

UpClear Highlights

Overall, the POI Vendor Panorama has marked UpClear as having “tremendous upside and momentum as a global player”, noting “UpClear is experiencing high-growth and they continue to recruit globally only those people who have the appropriate CPG and TPx technology experience. Year over year the company is consistently investing back into the technology with solid R&D levels to provide added functionality, capabilities, and enhanced performance to further meet the needs of clients. UpClear continues to make inroads into Tier 1, which positions it very well to enable a multinational company in all markets, not just smaller ones. They are currently pursuing SOC qualifications to support tier 1 global companies. In the near term, they are releasing BluePlanner 5, which will further improve the UX, provide more intelligence and real-time simulations, “In Context” visualization, and more.” 

COVID-19 and the Consumer Goods Industry

This year, POI spoke to the impact that COVID-19 had made on our industry of consumer goods technology and the consumers we service. Consumer behavior has varied wildly by region, with a new reality when it comes to shopping for regular consumer goods, especially adopting to digital and contact-less methods of purchase.  “The good news is that our industry is strong and our world is innovating fast….with the CPG paradigm shift taking place and COVID-19 implications, the strengths, analytical expertise, and partnerships between retailers and manufacturers need to be fully optimized to seize opportunities while stemming the negative impact of the industry change.”
