Deductions: From Confusion to Clarity

Lisa Joubert, Corporate Account Director at Tony Chachere’s Creole Foods, has spent her entire career with the Louisiana-based company, starting as an assistant bookkeeper. Over the years, she has witnessed the evolution of their processes for managing accounts, promotions, and deductions. BluePlanner’s integration with TrewUp, a partnership between UpClear and TrewUp has further improved efficiency at Tony Chachere’s.  TrewUp’s service acquires distributor deduction backup documents, transforms it into a structured data set, and produces analytics to help you understand the makeup of deductions.  The UpClear/TrewUp partnership enables BluePlanner to automatically ingest this data.  This allows Lisa’s team to pull complete deduction details from a single source, saving research time. BluePlanner’s approval workflows, documentation attachments, and broker/sales team integration have also streamlined communication and reduced costly errors. “Now we can capture all of our deductions in one centralized area and get the true picture of what our spends are with each account,” Lisa shared. She credits BluePlanner with transforming how her department operates, saving hours of manual work and providing peace of mind that every deduction is accounted for and validated. 

Peer-to-Peer Sharing at UpClear Deduction Summit

A highlight in her BluePlanner journey was attending UpClear’s Deduction Management Summit in Austin, Texas, where she connected with peers facing similar challenges. “To hear that you’re not alone, that was very rewarding,” Lisa said. The roundtable discussions provided practical tips, such as capturing deduction details before system upload, that she quickly implemented to benefit her clerks.
