Pulmuone Selects UpClear for US Trade Management

Like any other business, expanding our client base is always exciting to share. Today we are proud to announce Pulmuone Foods will be leveraging UpClear’s BluePlanner for Trade Promotion Management (TPM) in the United Sates. Pulmuone Foods was founded in South Korea and is a leading provider of ready to eat Asian foods, tofu, and frozen foods with a focus on nutrition and sustainability.  

About Pulmuone Foods

Founded over 35 years ago with establishing principles of nutrition and sustainability, Pulmuone was founded by Korean food pioneers that were committed to the well-being of the family and the environment. Founder and farmer, Won Kyung-sun, built the company from his organic farming practices, with a small shop opening its’ doors in 1981. This was Korea’s first organic food store, and has grown into a leading company in Korea with more than 700 food products across a range of categories. Some popular products include tofu, bean sprouts, natto, and a range of Asian inspired foods from dumplings, to wraps and ready to eat meals for the consumer that is increasingly on the go. The company has expanded to include the following brands: Nasoya, Wildwood, Emerald Valley Kitchen, Monterey Gourmet Foods, San Sui, Azumaya, Soga, as well as their line of food service.  

How they engaged UpClear 

Pulmuone Foods was seeking a trade promotion management solution because of the growth of their business.  Managing sales plans, promotions, trade spending, and deductions with homegrown tools became unsustainable.    Their key objectives for the new TPM solutions are: 

  • Deploy a Sales & Trade Planning tool that will support the management of their trade strategy 
  • Replace Excel-based tools; manage volume planning, trade promotions and trade spends in one solution 
  • Create clear visibility to Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) like projected and actual volume, revenue and trade spends 
  • Automate key data element transfers by integrating with their Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system
