As we close our books for the calendar year, we are proud to renew our 1% For the Planet commitment and donate 1% of our 2023 revenue to non-profit environmental organizations.
Aligned with last year our approach remains primarily focused on education-driven engagements. We support NGOs based on:
Along with other donations, we are especially proud to continue to support the following five organizations in 2024:
Kilian Jornet is an inspiration on many fronts: through his achievements as an athlete and explorer, through his moral compass based on humility and generosity, and through his leadership on sustainability. The Kilian Jornet Foundation is dedicated to the preservation of the mountain environment, with three main focus areas: a) education- raising awareness through its own and external channels such as the Athlete Climate Academy podcast, b) research, by investing in studies and monitoring services to better understand the effects of climate change on mountain environments, and c) direct actions, creating or financing projects aimed at solving environmental problems in the mountains.
For My Planet – Act for the Future is taking teenagers on scientific expeditions throughout France national and regional parcs. Together, they immerse themselves in nature, get blown away by its beauty and discover mutual aid, teamwork and connection to one another. Then, they set up in their schools, their neighborhood and their city, an eco-citizen project based on their creativity and focused on the respect of the environment and the “living together”. At the end of the year, these young “Sentinels of the environment” give lectures to talk, in their teenage words, about their mobilization for the planet. Thus, they become key players of Change.
Cafeteria Culture (CafCu), is an environmental education nonprofit working creatively with youth to achieve equitable zero waste, climate-smart school communities and a plastic free biosphere. The programs foster youth-led solutions by merging community science, civic action, media production, and the arts. Students in the programs, overwhelmingly from lower-income and communities of color, collect data, debate policy, and take on leadership roles that inform policy and offer solutions to the climate emergency that are leading to institutional change.
The Climate Fresk is a serious game about climate change, based on collective intelligence and creativity. Whether you’re completely new to the topic or quite savvy, you can play the Climate Fresk. In 3 hours’ time, you will retrace the IPCC*’s reasoning and you may even have fun doing it! You’ll also have the opportunity to discuss the consequences, challenges and changes that you see are coming or should be coming.
Directed by Flore Vasseur and co-produced by Marion Cotillard, the documentary made its world premiere at the 2021 Cannes Film Festival in the special section Cinema for the Climate. It is an exploration and an adventure on youth activism and empowerment, as it follows the path of seven young activists around the world. The film impact and movement has grown in 2023 and will continue to expand in 2024 as Flore and the Bigger Than Us Support team will support and follow the protagonists’ actions.
