Climate Fresk is a global non-profit organization that educates people about climate change through a collaborative, science-based workshop. Founded in France in 2018 by Cédric Ringenbach, the organization transforms complex data from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) into an engaging, visual learning experience.
The core of Climate Fresk’s approach is a three-hour workshop where participants work in groups to link 42 illustrated cards that represent key aspects of climate science—such as emissions, feedback loops, and societal impacts. The process promotes systems thinking and helps people understand the causes and consequences of climate change in a clear, accessible way.
What sets Climate Fresk apart is its focus on empowerment and collaboration rather than fear. The workshop is suitable for all audiences—from businesses to schools—and has been translated into over 50 languages. It is widely used to drive sustainability efforts within organizations and communities.
In addition to financial support, the UpClear team’s in New York City and Paris have participated in Climate Fresk workshops.
