Bubbling with Excitement: Martinelli’s Picks BluePlanner TPM

After issuing an RFP in their search for a Trade Promotion Management (TPM) system, Martinelli’s selected UpClear’s BluePlanner TPM platform. S. Martinelli & Co. has produced apple juices and sparkling ciders for over 150 years. In 1920, with Prohibition in full effect, the non-alcoholic cider beverage became Martinelli’s front-running product and has maintained popularity ever since. The company is based in California and covers the U.S., as well as several international markets. Martinelli’s analyzed various TPM platforms for planning, tracking, accounting for, and actualizing and analyzing its trade promotion spend, and ultimately selected BluePlanner. 

Pressing Priorities 

The apple juice and cider company’s goal was to transform and modernize its software ecosystem to drive operating efficiency, planning and forecasting, and visibility into business performance. The established brand uses a combination of promotional programs to incentivize purchase of its products by both retailers and consumers. The Sales, Deductions, and FP&A teams manage the company’s trade promotions use a patchwork of tools, driving the need for one unified solution across departments. One key requirement in the search for TPM was the ability to integrate with their Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system. Along with integration, BluePlanner TPM will allow the beverage company to set goals when planning promotions, provide teams with visibility into program plans, actuals, & accuracy, and improve reporting on overall business and promotions. Says Warren Sampson, the Senior Manager of Financial Planning & Decision Support Systems at Martinell’s,
