How it Works

Too many deductions are not legitimate. BluePlanner helps Consumer Goods brands systematically process deductions in a way that enables determination of shortpay validity. We do this with a strong combination of data management, market-tested functionality, and AI-powered automation.

  • Deduction backup documentation is scanned for fields that describe the deduction.
  • BluePlanner SmartRanking AI identifies and ranks the promotions and terms that are the most likely matches to the deductions. This machine learning model is continually trained to improve the accuracy of ranking promotions and terms that are probable matches.
  • Search and filter features always allow you to navigate manually.
  • When the activity was planned (promotions and terms), you are quickly able to access and view the details that were planned, approved, and actualized.
  • BluePlanner integrates shipments, retail sales, and distributor sales to actualize volume.
  • Actual volume is used in an actualized spending metric called “Projected.” Variable allowance spending (e.g. billbacks, scans) are calculated using actual volume. This can then be compared to deducted values.
  • When deductions are for expenses that were not planned, BluePlanner allows you to properly categorize this spending based on reason codes you configure.
